MISSION

Generating creative semi-professional human resource and technology development, in line with the country's aspirations.

OBJECTIVES

In line with the desired mission, the Faculty has specified the following objectives:-

•  To put the semi professional diploma program as the leading program in the country.
•  To increase the opportunities for the public to access learning in semi professional fields which are comparable to full time programmes
•  To give opportunities to the public to enhance their qualifications and skills through part time studies.
•  To enrich the writing and publishing of academic materials in a myriad of fields.
•  To encourage the increase in the number of consultancies and researches in a myriad of fields.
•  To optimize the use of facilities and equipment.

COURSES OFFERED

The Faculty offers eight part time programmes. They are:-

•  Diploma in Civil Engineering
•  Diploma in Electronic Engineering
•  Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
•  Diploma in Technology Management
•  Diploma in Technology Management (Accountancy)
•  Diploma in Computer Science (Information Technology)
•  Diploma in Computer Science (Multimedia)
•  Diploma in Quantity Surveying

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Fulfill the University's General Requirements and the Programme's Specific Requirements.

•  Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with at least FIVE (5) distinctions in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics and THREE (3) other required subjects or;.

•  Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with distinction in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia subject and

•  Pass the Polytechnic certificate or its equivalent in relevant disciplines with at least a 2.0 CGPA and Passed all major/core subjects.

Programme's Specific Requirements

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering

SPM Leavers

i. Fulfill UNIVERSITY'S GENERAL REQUIREMENTS with at least THREE (3) distinctions in the following subjects :-

•  Additional Mathematics
•  Physics
•  Chemistry
•  Information Technology or Invention
•  Additional Science or Science or Biology
•  Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Studies or Building Construction Technology
•  Engineering Drawing or Geometrical & Building Construction Drawing
•  English Language or History or Geography or Islamic Law Education or Islamic Worldview or Al-Quran & As-Sunnah Studies or Islamic Education or Moral Education.

ii. ONE (1) of the distinctions in i must be from one of the subjects below:-

•  Additional Mathematics
•  Physics
•  Chemistry
•  Information Technology or Invention
•  Additional Science or Science
•  Priority will be given to candidates who obtained distinctions in Additional Mathematics and Physics.

Polytechnic Graduates

•  Possess a Polytechnic certificate in a relevant discipline with a CGPA of at least 2.80 or;

•  Candidates who obtained a CGPA lower than 2.80 but have at least 2 years working experience in the relevant field are also eligible to apply.

•  Pass with distinction in Mathematics at the SPM/equivalent level or obtaining at least a C grade in one of the Mathematics subjects at the Polytechnic certificate level.  

2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering

SPM Leavers

•  Additional Mathematics
•  Physics
•  Chemistry
•  Information Technology or Invention
•  Additional Science or Science or Biology
•  Engineering Technology or Electrical and Electronics Engineering Studies or Electronics Technology or Electric Technology
•  Engineering Drawing or Geometrical & Electronics Drawing
•  History or Geography or English Language or Islamic Law Education or Islamic Worldview or Al-Quran & As-Sunnah Studies or Islamic Education or Moral Education.

ii. ONE (1) of the distinctions in i must be from one of the subjects below:-

•  Additional Mathematics
•  Physics
•  Chemistry
•  Information Technology or Invention
•  Additional Science or Science
•  Priority will be given to candidates who obtained distinctions in Additional Mathematics and Physics.
•  Not colour blind or physically impaired which could interfere with laboratory work.

Polytechnic Graduates

•  Possess a Polytechnic certificate in a relevant discipline with a CGPA of at least 2.80 or;

•  Candidates who obtained a CGPA lower than 2.80 but have at least 2 years working experience in the relevant field are also eligible to apply.

•  Pass with distinction in Mathematics at the SPM/equivalent level or obtaining at least a C grade in one of the Mathematics subjects at the Polytechnic certificate level.

•  Not colour blind or physically impaired which would interfere with laboratory work.

3. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

i. Fulfill UNIVERSITY'S GENERAL REQUIREMENTS with at least THREE (3) distinctions in the following subjects :-

•  Engineering Drawing or Geometrical & Automotive Drawing or Geometrical & Metal Fabrication Drawing or Geometrical & Machines Drawing or Geometrical & Air Conditioning Drawing
•  History or Geography or English Language or Islamic Law Education or Islamic Worldview or Al-Quran & As-Sunnah Studies or Islamic Education or Moral Education.

ii. ONE (1) of the distinctions in i must be from one of the subjects below:-
